If you can knit in the round on circular needles, you can make this type of neckwarmer. It's a very simple pattern that requires no shaping. Use large needles and a bulky yarn for a quick project you can complete in an afternoon.

1 skein bulky yarn
U.S. size 16 circular knitting needles
Tapestry needle
Instructions
1 Cast on 98 stitches on U.S. size 16 circular needles. Join the ends, being careful not to twist your stitches. See the References section for full instructions for knitting in the round.
2 Knit two stitches and purl two stitches to make a two-by-two rib pattern. Repeat this pattern for the rest of the round.
3 Repeat Step 2 until you have a neckwarmer that measures 10 inches or your desired length. It should be long enough to bunch up at the neck for added warmth.
4 Bind off in two-by-two rib pattern. Cut the yarn and weave in the end.
Tips & Warnings
Make the neckwarmer longer if you want to be able to pull it up over your head as well.
